Major / Minor Declaration Form

The undergraduate major is declarable at any stage of the student’s tenure at UT. Students are strongly encouraged to declare their Theatre major as soon as possible – the sooner the department knows of your interest, the sooner you can get involved in productions! There are no progression requirements prior to declaration, but there are two prerequisite courses, Theatre 100 – Introduction to Theatre, and your choice of ENGL 206 Introduction to Shakespeare, ENGL 248 Honors: Introduction to Drama, or ENGL 252 Introduction to Drama, without which the major cannot be fulfilled.

Major Requirements

Minor Requirements

To declare a major, please submit your Theatre Major/Minor declaration form, and/or visit the Theatre Department office at 206 McClung tower and inform one of the staff members that you would like to formally declare the Major. You will then be introduced to the faculty in your area of interest, and connected with the Department of Theatre academic advisor, Emily Brandel (Ayers Hall 313).
