Jeb Burris is a professional Actor and Theatre artist who has appeared on many different stages nationwide for over 15 years. His work includes memorable roles such as Dorante (The Liar), Mercutio (Romeo & Juliet), Ferdinand (The Tempest) Costard (Love’s Labour’s Lost) Isaac Jaggard (The Book of Will), The Gentleman Caller (The Glass Menagerie, and Cassio (Othello) among numerous others. Selected credits include work with the Indiana Repertory Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theatre, and Chicago Shakespeare Theatre among many others.
Jeb is the Director of Movement at American Players Theatre where he serves the Fight, Intimacy, and Movement needs of each season.
He holds his M.F.A. from Illinois State University and his B.S. from Ball State University. He also trained with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in the UK.
Jeb is a member of Actor’s Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the Association of Theatre Movement Educators.
Some recent Fight Director credits include King Lear, Wolf at the Door, A Virgin Queen Entertains Her Fool, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom at American Players Theatre, and served as the Fight and Intimacy Director for the co-production of Coriolanus at Portland Center Stage and Oregon Shakespeare Festival. His professional work also includes numerous world premiere productions as an Actor, Intimacy Director, and Fight Director.
