Ellie Cornett is a first-year MFA Scenic Design student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In addition to her growing experience as a scenic designer, she also has an extensive background in scenic construction. Her love for design began during her undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, where she was afforded the opportunity to design in the Alys Stephens Center’s Odess Theatre. Following this initial experience, she continued to serve as an assistant set designer on several productions. After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in General Theatre, she designed sets both for her alma mater and for local theaters. Her scenic design credits include Sanctuary City, The Revolutionists, and The Spitfire Grill.
