Chance Beck

Sound and Media Design Concentration, Class of '27

Chance is a Graduate Student in the MFA Sound & Media Design degree program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. They have served in both designer and technician roles throughout their graduate and undergraduate education, with additional engineering experience as a part of professional companies such as the Ohio Light Opera.

Chance has been credited as the Sound Designer for You Can’t Take It With You, The Harvest, and Failure: A Love Story with the Clarence Brown Company. Additional design credits include: As It Is In Heaven, The Rainbow Fish Musical, Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Doctor Faustus, Into the Woods, and It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. They have also served as Assistant Sound Designer for Tip-Toes and She Kills Monsters.

They have served in various roles, including A1, A2, Electrician, Sound Board Operator, and Stagehand, while enjoying the many wonderful positions that live theatre offers to create compelling stories.
