2023 MFA in Theatre, Scenic Design Concentration
DJ is a recent graduate of Weber State University with a BA in Theatre, emphasizing scenic and projection design. He is excited to continue his educational path at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Recent scenic designs include Sunday in the Park with George and H.M.S Pinafore. Recent projection designs include Sunday in the Park with George, The cripple of Inishmaan, Sense and Sensibility, Orchesis Dance, and Weber State's Presidential Inauguration.
Other related experiences include working as the scene shop manager at Weber State University, serving as technical director/production manager for an off-broadway production of The Beyoncé with the Adjusted Realists in New York, NY, a carpenter for the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, CA, various scenic artist positions, and a ceramic sculpture show in the Shepard Union Gallery.
Honors include Regional KCACTF Award for Theatrical Design Excellence in Allied Crafts - Scenic Art for The Cripple of Inishmaan, KCACTF Finalist for Design - Scenic Design for Sunday in the Park with George, Office of Undergraduate research grant for projection software, J. Wallace and Katie Dean Graduate Endowment, and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at The University of Tennessee.
