Advising Requirements

Students planning to major in Theatre should declare the major as soon as possible.

Students should go to 220 Ayres Hall to complete the necessary paperwork and will then be directed to the Theatre Department to be assigned a faculty advisor.

Newly declared majors are assigned an advisor by the department office. Majors are expected to take Introduction to Theatre in the freshman year.

Theatre 100 - Introduction to Theatre
Note: This course can be used to satisfy the Humanities Part II Divisional Distribution.

Theatre 220 - Acting I
Theatre 242 - Fundamentals of Costume Design & Tech. (2)
Theatre 252 - Fundamentals of Scene Design & Tech. (2)
Theatre 262 - Fundamentals of Lighting Design & Tech. (2)
Theatre 300 - Play Analysis
Theatre 411 - Theatre History & Dramatic
Literature I
Theatre 412 - Theatre History & Dramatic
Literature II
Theatre 430 - Principles of Play Directing I
Plus twelve (12) hours of Theatre courses numbered 200 and above are required, three hours of which may be in cognate areas approved by the Department

Minor

Prerequisite:
